Renting a Car on St Croix – Life in the Left Lane
We strongly suggest renting a car while visiting St. Croix. There are a lot of things to do on St. Croix when you aren’t scuba diving. (Check out some of the things to do on St. Croix that we recommend.)
Staying on a hotel property then entire time you’re here would mean you wouldn’t get to see what a great island St. Croix truly is and traveling by taxi all week would be incredibly expensive,
We recommend renting a car from Judi of Croix Car Rental or Olympic Rent a Car, or Centerline Car Rental. All are local companies that have very good rates. They can pick you up at the airport, your hotel, or even the dive shop.
Also all of the major rental car brands (Hertz, Avis, Budget) are at the airport.
By the way, bring your GPS with you. Garmin NUVIs actually work pretty well on St. Croix. (We’re at 81 Queen Cross Street in Christiansted according to NUVI). Other brands may too but we definitely know the NUVI does.
